Mark Scoble BEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE - Design Office Manager for Oriel Services Ltd

Message from the Chairman

Rob Withers finished his two year term in office as Chairman at The Subsidence Forum AGM in May.

Mark Scoble was elected Chairman of the SF at the AGM in May 2017 where he starts his two year term.

Mark’s background is in construction with over 23 years experience of handling subsidence related repairs and preparing structural schemes. Mark’s expertise is identifying the most appropriate repair solution to a building following damage by an insured peril, preparing the design and/or drawing, obtaining all statutory approvals and liaising with all parties to get the scheme installed.

Mark studied a honours degree in Civil and General Engineering at Oxford Brookes University, and became a Chartered Structural Engineer in 2002. During his sandwich year at university, he worked for British Waterways. After university he spent 3 years working at a Structural Consultancy in East Sussex before joining Cunningham Ellis & Buckle in 1999.

Outside of work, Mark has a keen interest in the restoration of derelict waterways and canals and for over 21 years was an active volunteer of many working parties including IWA and WRG. This gave Mark his practical knowledge to site operations from operating plant, to bricklaying, fixing rebar, etc.

Mark is passionate about his specialist and practical knowledge of construction, its challenges and providing guidance to others where required.  In addition, Mark is on the ASUC Exec Board representing the Associate members.
