Rob Withers - Executive Director for ASUC
Message from the Chairman
Iain Maclean finished his two year term in office as Chairman at ASUC's AGM in May.
Rob Withers was elected Chairman of the SF at the AGM in May 2015, this is for a two year term.
Rob served as a previous Chairman of the SF in its early days following John Parvin into the post, when it carried a one year term only.
Rob’s background is in Construction with over 30 years’ experience from his family run business which specialised in Subsidence Repairs, Underpinning, Piling and Basement Construction. Rob’s business ceased to trade in 2012 and since that time has been the Executive Director for ASUC, the trade association representing contractors in the above disciplines. Technically trained at North East Surrey College in Building and Construction Rob went onto become MD of the Withers Group until 2012 when recessionary pressures meant the family took the hard decision to withdraw from that market. Still involved with the family’s property portfolio and through ASUC, Rob’s passionate about this specialist area of construction and its challenges. He is an active member (on behalf of ASUC) of Build UK and fully supports its Fair Payment Charter.
